My Style

First, it’s important to make sure we’re a good fit. My style often incorporates a colorful combination of watercolor and illustration techniques. I love doing aura portraits, animal totems, and spiritually-themed works.

What I don’t do:

I don’t do standard/realistic portraits, family portraits, animal portraits, or things requested outside of my style. Additionally, I do not paint still lifes, landscapes or inanimate objects.

Aura Portraits

An aura portrait is a portrait that retains a loose likeness of yourself but is made with the colors I perceive in your aura. Each aura portrait comes with a one-page aura reading. Aura portraits take 8-12 weeks to complete.

What I need from you:

I will need a high-resolution (high-quality) black-and-white photo of you to use as the basis of the painting. Creative liberty with color usage is necessary for an accurate painting. All portraits are painted either on Aquarelle cold-pressed watercolor block or raised watercolor board (your choice).

Animal Totems

We all have multiple animal guides who walk with us in life. Animal totems are also great teachers to call forward to assist us in different parts of our life. They teach us in the form of animal medicine. If you don’t know your totem animal, or if you aren’t sure which power animal to call upon, I can channel the animal spirits I see around you. Then, you can choose the one you resonate with the most for me to illustrate. All animal totem works include a short message from your animal totem or power animal and the medicine it is currently teaching you. Animal totems will vary in coloration and positioning. Just as no two people are alike, no two animal totems are alike! Animal totems take 6-12 weeks to complete.

The Process

The process will start with an initial sketch (based on reference photos for aura portraits). I will then channel and rough sketch the colors (with notes). Over the course of the creative process, I will send 2-3 progress photos to the client. There will also be a simple contract to protect our interests and expectations.
